BUSHFIRE GAMES / NUNCHOOKS
Privacy policy.
Effective date: 21 October 2026.
Nunchooks: Way of the Warrior Hen ("the game") is made by Bushfire Games, run by Jack Arnold in Yugar, Queensland, Australia. This policy explains what information the game handles and what it does with it. It also covers the Bushfire Games website and email enquiries, and links to the privacy information for the Nunchooks website and mailing list.
For privacy questions or requests to access, correct or delete your information, contact gday@nunchooks.com.
Game privacy
The short version
- The game works without sending information to us. Your saves and settings stay on your headset.
- Crash reports and playtest logs are sent to us only if you say yes when the game asks, and you can turn them off at any time in Options → Crash reports.
- The game never collects your name, email address, voice, your room's camera images or your exact location. It has no accounts, no ads and no in-app purchases.
- Accounts Meta tells us belong to children aged 10–12 never send crash reports or logs.
Information stored on your headset
Game progress, settings and the names you type for the local leaderboards are saved on the headset only, in the app's own storage. Uninstalling the game deletes them. They are not sent to us or anyone else.
Information the game gets from Meta
The game uses Meta's Platform SDK for two things:
- Ownership check: at start-up it asks Meta whether your account owns the game, as the Meta Horizon Store requires. The game only receives yes or no.
- Age category: because the game is rated for mixed ages, it asks Meta once a session for your account's age category (child, teen or adult) and keeps that answer on the headset. It is used only to switch crash reporting off for children's accounts and is not sent to us.
How Meta handles your account data is covered by Meta's own privacy policy.
Crash reports and playtest logs (opt-in)
The first time you start a game, we ask whether the game may send crash reports and playtest logs to Bushfire Games. If you say yes, the game sends:
- Crash and error reports: what went wrong in the game's code, the sequence of game events before it, the game's log file, the game version, and technical details of the headset (model, operating system version, graphics chip and memory). These help us find and fix bugs.
- Playtest logs at the end of each level: how long the level took, hits taken and from what, and frame rate per room. These help us balance the game and keep it running smoothly.
These reports do not include your name, email address, Meta account details, your voice, or images from your headset's cameras. We do not use them for advertising or sell them to anyone.
They are processed for us by Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., San Francisco, USA), a service for crash reporting, on servers in the United States, under Sentry's data processing terms. The game is configured not to store IP addresses with reports. Reports are kept for 90 days and then deleted.
You can change your answer at any time in Options → Crash reports. Turning it off stops all sending immediately; it does not delete reports already sent because we cannot tell which are yours.
Children
The game is intended for players aged 10 and up and is listed for mixed ages on the Meta Horizon Store. When Meta tells the game that an account belongs to a child aged 10–12, crash reporting and playtest logs are switched off for that account and the opt-in question is not asked. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights and contact
The game holds no account about you, so there is nothing to export or log in to. If you have sent crash reports and want to ask about them, or have any question about this policy, contact gday@nunchooks.com. If you are in the EU, UK or another place with data protection law, you have the rights that law gives you, including access, deletion and objection. Write to the same address.
Changes
If the game starts collecting anything new, such as online leaderboards, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the game will ask again where the law requires consent. The effective date at the top shows the latest version.
These game disclosures match the Nunchooks game privacy policy. The deletion instructions below explain how to exercise your choices.
Website and enquiries
Bushfire Games website
The Bushfire Games website does not have a signup form, advertising trackers or visitor analytics scripts. The website code does not set cookies or store visitor information in your browser. Its motion control only changes how the current page is displayed.
Cloudflare hosts and delivers the website. To serve pages and protect its services, Cloudflare processes connection and request information, which can include your IP address, browser information and the page requested. Cloudflare's handling of this information is described in its privacy policy. Fonts and artwork are served with the site.
Email enquiries
If you email us, we use your address and the contents of your message to respond and manage that conversation. Enquiries are handled through our Google Workspace mailbox. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information that we do not need.
Enquiry records are kept for as long as needed to deal with the conversation and related administration. Contact us if you want us to review or remove information we hold about you.
Nunchooks website and mailing list
Following a Nunchooks link takes you to a separate website. Its website and mailing-list privacy notice explains its live visitor notices and the Brevo signup service.
If you subscribe there, we use your email address and any information you choose to supply on the form to send Nunchooks development updates and playtest news. You confirm your subscription through an email link. Brevo processes signup and email delivery and may process your IP address and subscription or delivery records. See Brevo's privacy policy for its processing, service providers and international transfers.
You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter, or contact gday@nunchooks.com for help. A record of your preference may be retained to avoid adding you back accidentally. Subscription information is used while you remain on the mailing list. Email services may record delivery, opens and link clicks depending on their settings.
The mailing list is for news. Any playtest that needs extra personal information will explain what is needed at that stage.
Request deletion of your data
To request deletion of information collected or stored by Bushfire Games, email gday@nunchooks.com with the subject Data deletion request. Say which information you want deleted and, for a mailing-list subscription or an earlier enquiry, include the email address you used.
We will review the request, verify enough information to locate the relevant records, and delete information we can identify and are not required to retain. If a legal requirement prevents deletion, we will explain this when responding.
- Saves, settings and local leaderboard names: these are held only on your headset. Uninstall the game to delete its local data; we cannot access or delete it remotely.
- Crash reports and playtest logs: turn off Options → Crash reports to stop new reports. Reports are not linked to your name, email address or Meta account, so we cannot identify your reports from those details or selectively delete them on that basis. Existing reports are automatically deleted after 90 days. You may still contact us about a report or make a deletion request.
- Email and mailing-list records: use the email request above. Unsubscribing stops newsletters; requesting deletion also asks us to review the underlying records. A minimal suppression record may be retained to respect an unsubscribe preference.
Meta account information held by Meta is managed separately through Meta's privacy controls. Contact us at the same address for access, correction, an objection or any other privacy question.
